Dear Delegates,
Welcome to the Security Council! I’m Ruotong (Donna) Li, and it is my honour to serve as the President of the Security Council alongside Yena. I’m currently a sophomore at Beijing World Youth Academy, and this is my second year in MUN, while BRITMUN marks my tenth conference and third time chairing.
From being too nervous to raise my placard in my first debate, to now serving as a student officer, MUN has been far more than a platform for debate. It has enriched my life with collaboration, confidence, and global citizenship, and I sincerely hope you all will find that same passion and growth throughout the conference.
If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out at 2108006234@wya.top.
See you all soon! ฅ˙Ⱉ˙ฅ

Deputy President
Yena Han
Honorable Delegates,
I am excited to welcome you to BRITMUN’s Security Council. As your Deputy President, I look forward to guiding our discussion on the Venezuelan crisis, a humanitarian disaster that has persisted for years.
Venezuela is in the midst of a severe political, economic, and social collapse, with millions fleeing the country due to hyperinflation, food shortages, and violence. The political standoff between Nicolás Maduro and opposition forces, has only deepened the crisis. Recent events, notably the shocking kidnapping of President Maduro by former U.S. President Donald Trump, have escalated tensions and raised complex legal and diplomatic questions.
As we debate solutions, I urge delegates to consider both the human impact and international implications of this crisis. Our goal must be to find a path toward peace and stability for the Venezuelan people.
